Hi
Not strictly relevant here as I took the photo in Turkey a few weeks ago. Could anyone please tell me the name of this Butterfly as it was a real beauty!

Swallowtail. Only found in parts of the Norfolk Broads in Britain.

Yep a swallowtail and my wife was photographing these at Strumpshaw fen last month. They have a relatively short season and fly in late June /July and again a small flight in August.
Took her two years to get a photograph as they are quite scarce and on the day we visited we saw nothing in the morning but in the afternoon saw half a dozen. |

Yes, Swallowtail, but a different sub-species to the Norfolk Broads one. |
