| | | Meadow Browns How could anyone think these chaps are dull butterflies? I think they are lovely...I took these yesterday evening at High Meadow in Dover. Quite pleased with all three. |

| | | Re: Meadow Browns Thanks Hedge Witch. The sun was very low in the sky as it was about 8pm when I took those, the background colour was a lovely fluke effect and certainly not intentional by me!
The spots are there on the fore wings, but in the picture above the fore wing is tucked right behind the hind wing almost completely so that you can't really see it. You can see what I mean in the picture below which is the same as the silhouette pic but with the flash on to provide foreground illumination against the setting sun. |
