A friend of mine said she had seen a yellow and blue butterfly a few weeks back, but didn't manage to get a photo of it. I only know of yellow butterflies, and blue butterflies, but not aware of any with both colours?
Does anyone know which butterfly this might have been? It's really foxed me

The only UK butterfly with those colours is the Swallowtail and that only occurs in Norfolk. But there are people who breed exotic butterflies, and some of them release them into the wild, so it's possible that what she saw wasn't native. |

Do you know how big it was? I know Small copper's can sometimes appear blueish in certain light and with yellowey orange on the wings? |
