Wonder if we will get another good Painted Lady year? apparently there's been alot of rain again around the Atlas Mountains thanks to the jet stream being so far south.

Let's hope so. The conditions do sound promising.

I've been following the weather conditions all winter long and indeed it does sound promising although the desert hasn't been green in the way it was the winter before apparently.

Even more exciting is that a Painted Lady was seen in the New Forest last week!

I am a few miles south of you, certainly to date not a sign of a Painted Lady

None here either yet. I'm still hopeful for this coming summer though

I saw a very tatty Painted Lady near the south coast of the Isle of Wight on Monday. Whether it had managed to over-winter, or whether it was an early arrival we shall never know. It didn't stay still for long enough to get a photo.

It could have been captive bred and released too.

However, stand by your beds, the european wave is on its way to us and should be here in a week. Nothing like the numbers last year though.

Nothing here on the Spanish French frontier Over 6 weeks late on last year We have had terrible weather recently heavy rain for two weeks including snow

Weathers improved 39C yesterday snow has all but gone but still not a sighting

They have crossed the Pyrénéens I saw my first this morning
