| | | Re: Painted Ladies They were flying across the road every few yards on my drive home from North Bristol into Gloucester this afternoon, and lots in the garden too. All travelling in the same North/West direction.
The ones I saw at The Lizard last weekend weren't noticably traveling in one direction, probably because they'd just made landfall.
Have they reached Scotland & Ireland yet?

Cheryl: I saw masses on red valerian today at the seaside but they just don't seem to go on my valerian, perhaps because I have so many other flowers here. I am glad to read you have had good results with yours though.
Someone from Sussex Butterfly Conservation did a count today and had 1590 in one hour. Even I can't beat that! |

| | | Re: Painted Ladies Just been almost dive bombed by dozens of them on a walk through beech/oak woods here in Dorset. Wonderful sight, but no chance of a photo as they were so mobile. |

| | | Re: Painted Ladies Saw 100+ today on a farm walk we hosted here in Leics. They seemed to be keeping close to the line of our river where if flows northwards, didn't see many elsewhere on the farm. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
