That one is nicely coloured, I think, they are often a little more "monotone"

The underside of a fresh speckled wood's wings are very prettily coloured indeed.

Thanks Susie. Most of the time I have seen these they have had their wings wide open, basking in the sun.

Jim, I have tried and the only chance I can see of capturing the wings open is when they are in flight. Still, next year I shall have a go using C-AF, a lot of patience and lots of file deletions. Thanks for the challenge
