| | | Dragonfly and butterfly pics I took these this morning near to the River Great Ouse.
This, I think, is a Migrant Hawker skulking in the undergrowth. When I processed this snap, I realised that there were, in fact, two dragons. It looks either like murder or hanky panky to me
There has been a general lack of butterflies throught the summer, but suddenly we are awash with Small Tortoiseshells - I am not complaining
And a Comma

| | | Re: Dragonfly and butterfly pics Lovely Photo's
I know this is going to sound shocking and hard to believe but i had never seen a dragonfly in my entire life since this year!!
Mainly because the ponds in my garden i put in are only about 18 months old and on rare visits to the countryside i never seemed to encounter them
But this year i visited a local nature reserve in Solihull and my eyes have been opened
WHAT WONDERFUL INSECTS THEY ARE!!!
and my garden has attracted Broad-bodied Chasers and common darters!!
I'm so excitabubble by the prospect of seeing more in the wild soon | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
