I'm guessing its common in the south but seeing i'm in Blyth in Northumberland i'm presuming these are a rather rare species for my part of the world?
Lucky me as I saw two today. |

Lucky me as I saw two today. | This seems to be a very strange year for butterflies. I saw my first Peacock and my first Brimstone this week. I have seen more Wall butterflies in the last 2 weeks or so than I normally see in a year. Baffled! |

| | | Re: Orange Butterfly ID Please? Nice shot Mark. It's been a poor year for butterflies overall, must be the wet weather. I've seen lots of Whites, Peacocks and Ringlets and Orange tips were common early on. Just saw my first Red Admiral today and it was in my own garden. No Commas or Painted Lady - yet.

| | | Re: Orange Butterfly ID Please? I've hardly seen any butterflies this year. I know that we were all hoping this year would be a lot sunnier than last year, as the numbers last year were worrying! A good sunny summer was necessary to increase their numbers, but sadly this did not happen. A beautiful photo of the wall butterfly by the way.

Tracey | Curiously, it seems to be a good year for Bumble-bees and a poor year for Honey-bees. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
