Cornish Butterfly ID
Hi folks,

can anyone ID the below butterfly? I saw it while out for a walk this afternoon (open farmland near Launceston, Cornwall). From memory it was roughly 4-5cm in diameter and is pictured on some roadside bracken. I've checked all the books I have to hand and most of the website ID guide I can find, but the closest I get is a Marbelled White. Any ideas?

I might be wrong but I think it is actually a Magpie Moth

You're correct, they're so bright and colourful that they're often mistaken for butterflies,
