Butterfly world is an exciting new project in Hertfordshire, along with the largest butterfly house in the world, they are also planning the largest wildflower meadow in Hertfordshire. They are dependant on lottery funding and would appreciate messages of support. Check out the website, this place could be a winner. |

| | | Re: Butterfly World Looks very interesting. I've signed up to recieve udates and pledge support. This kind of thing certainly seems more worthy to me of public money than ill fated domes in London for example! What I like most with this project is that its not just a dome for tropical species but is looking at the whole picture of conserving and promoting our own British species too.
Thanks for posting the ingo Imaginos. |

| | | Re: Butterfly World My favorite part is the design-a massive butterfly head with antennae & proboscis paths & the palps made out of the largest Buddleia hedge in the world! They predict clouds of butterflies and bees on this & the wildflower meadows. The wildlife gardens in the shape of a caterpillar look like a great educational resource too. And all this within easy reach of the M25 & M1. If they get the lottery grant they should be open by 2009 & I'll be the first through the door |

It certainly looks like an interesting project and all within easy reach of where I live .... traffic on the motorways permitting! I have saved the link you have kindly provided and will certainly keep an eye on developments.
