Defiance

Did anyone catch the film defiance last night, it was the touching story of the bielski brothers. Three jewish brothers who escaped the nazis in the second world war and set up a partisan group living in the forests of poland.

They managed to set up a community in the woods and as a consequence of their actions ultimately save over 1200 people

The story of how they survived in the forest for over two years against all the odds was covered by ray mears in one episode of his programs on survival

I saw it when it first came out and watched it again last night on TV

Its a very good film and a poignant reminder of the horrendous suffering imposed on Eastern Europe during the occupation
If there is such a thing as a holocaust denier perhaps they would care to explain what was going on in Belorussia at that time(sorry that's a rhetorical question not opening any political debate)
Lots of bushcraft bits to spot make it well worth a second viewing as well
