| | | Squeeze bottle Could any one give me any advice on what squeeze bottle to use and where to obtain one. It is to put talcum powder in to find the wind direction when I am photographing Deer, Foxes and Badger. Hope someone can help, thanks.

| | | Re: Squeeze bottle Put a finger in your mouth as to wet all the surface and hold it vertically in the air. You'll be able to feel the direction of the wind.
Here it is Fudgey, from Scotland too... http://www.bushwear.co.uk/nostyles.p...01&ClassID=251
Just the thing to answer the question,"Ever been out and could just not tell which way the wind was coming?"

| | | Re: Squeeze bottle Is there not a risk attached to this, when you have been out for a while and haven't washed your hands? Speaking for myself, I can't go past a pond without getting up close and personal with it, and I am always aware of diseases contracted from these types of places, having been ill in the past.
How about grabbing a handful of dried grass, dry soil, feather or whatever there is lying about and then throwing upwards, or (in the case of dust) just letting it fall (one of the most subtle methods).
My hair is often pulled out for such occasions as these!

| | | Re: Squeeze bottle Yes, OK Deb - not to be recommended on WAB. Don't do it folks.
I was taught to do it with grass but I find the finger method works best with the slightest of breezes. |

We have a lot of dust here. I will go out later and try this method later. With this method, at least your quarry won't smell plastic and chemicals.

use any thing light weight, a bit of cotton/hair will blow in the wind, spit on your finger (if you dont want to lick it), dust, grass etc or look at the foliage around or ripples on the water and see how they are reacting to the wind

Deb was inviting comment and knowing her ability for merciless retorts, I decided against it. She's armed with a sharp bowsaw now, you know.
I've been thinking about Debs lips not working properly all day and might be able to offer assistance.
There's a thread here Lips not working right, please help?? - Sarcastic Gamer Forums
entitled "Lips not working right, please help??" It's all too much for me.
