| | | Fox Hunting Survey Hello, I’m doing a survey “the public’s perception on the repeal of the hunting ban” for an assignment and was wondering if you would take the time to fill out the following questionnaire so that I can get the views from both pro and anti supporters. The Publics Perception on the Repeal of the Fox Hunting Ban
Many Thanks |

Are you posting the same questionnaire on any other sites to get a balanced view? If so, can you tell us which ones they are please.
Thanks. |

| | | Re: Fox Hunting Survey I've completed it but am unhappy with some of the questions - the one 'Do you agree with the Governments ...... ' is a complex sentence that could lead to people answer yes/no when they don't intend!
Question 15 is meaningless: what 'effects' would 'knock on' exactly? Are we talking ecology, economics, tourism, moral degeneration?
Also, the survey says that it is aimed at assessing the views of the public - surely you should be aiming for a random selection of said public rather than asking groups of born-killers and tree-huggers?

| | | Re: Fox Hunting Survey Conversely that was my point in the second post, I would have thought that there would be a big bias by surveying WAB members.
I wonder if answers from the two perceived extremes would reflect the views of the public, as Paul queries. |

INMHO the readers are interested in Horses not foxes.

| | | Re: Fox Hunting Survey Just completed the survey and like some other posters found the questions a bit inadequate/simplistic.
I have never liked the hunting of anything with hounds. To me a hunting dog is a gun dog. However I have come to see that there are quite a lot of people out there who know a hell of a lot more about our countryside than I do. I have done a fair amount of hunting with air rifles, shot guns and small/full bore rifles according to species and these are the best + most humane methods for me. However shooting animals is not always appropriate and hounds can and frequently do perform the tasks more appropriately - I just don't like it personally.
I went on the pro-hunting marches in London, not because I hunt with hounds (don't and never will), but because I saw the ban as being illogical and ill informed and more importantly is proving bad for foxes.
The best intentions are useless they are tempered by knowledge and experience.
