| | | "bushcraft" in devon cornwall area hi guys,
can anyone advise me on where some good marks are in cornwall devon area?
for a holiday this year me and my brother want to camp out for a few days and just live off the land and what we catch, hopefully... lol (im a fisherman)
looking for an area with woodlands close by for firewood and food and somewhere where the coast offers quite deep water for pollock and wrasse etc...
i also want to forage for food off the coast as well. i wanted to be marine biologist so i no about habitats and ecosystems and what the impacts are of "overgrazing" are. but, im in the ambulance service now so we will be safe to lol.
also somewhere which you are aloud camp fires to cook our food. dont worrry i also know how to make these and make them safely too.
so a long shot but any ideas?
thanks, chris |

It depends when you go and where you go, I'm not too familiar with Cornwall it being about as far away from me in England as it is possible to get.
Living off the land isn't as hard as it may seem. Certainly the sea shore will provide you with fish, winkles, mussels, shrimps, crabs, lobsters, edible seaweed and Razor shells. Slightly inland you will find Rabbits, if your capable of snaring them and of course road kills. (I'm sick of eating Pheasant I pick up daily near where I live).
The hedgerows can provide many edible items from fruits to nuts and damp river bottoms will provide wild Garlic.
It all depends upon the time of year your going into the area.
If all else fails there is always places that go under the name of Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury etc where for a large lump out of your wallet you can gorge yourselves to death. lol.
