| | vote against fox I see that the Conservatives intend to use the hunting ban as a vote winner, Just how low can they get, I thought that Cameron was a decent family type man but to stoop this low is pathetic, Just what century does he think we are in, It is time every one realized that this world is not just for man alone and these idiots that think they can play god and take away the one chance that creatures just like us have at life!!!, I know that we do not want to discuss politics on this site but it is a concern of any one that loves wildlife. |

| | | Re: vote against fox Even among Conservatives, the majority don't want hunting with dogs brought back (6 out of 10, acording to latest polls). So I have no idea why Cameron's intending to spend parliamentary time on trying to overturn the ban. I politely contacted my local MP, Own Paterson, to tell him they were alienating voters, but he didn't even bother to reply! |

| | | Re: vote against fox Lucky you. I just had an email from his secretary - his wife - to say he'd get back to me, but then it was silence all the way. I don't care what political party that is, it's poor manners to blank a constituent. |

| | | Re: vote against fox I dont propose to get dragged into yet another rights and wrongs of hunting argument - but i would observe that the hunt ban was unpopular with a lot of tory voters so its not a suprise that cameron wants to repeal it.
Also even from the point of view of someone who opposes fox hunting the hunting with dogs act is a very weak sister - with multiple loop holes and ambiguities, and it might be better alround if it were repealed and reworked into simple cogent legislation so that everyone knows where they stand.

| | | Re: vote against fox I do believe Mr Cameron is clutching at straws with this one. Just how would removing the ban make this country a better place to live.....??? Cant see it myself, I supose he will say is it will reduce unemployment by creating jobs for those involved with the hunt kennels etc. What a load of rubbish. Overturning the ban would do no good for this country whatsoever..... Dogs still chase a 'drag' so leave it at that..... Absolutely ridiculous rant, rant, rant..... |

| | | Re: vote against fox The 'ban' has done nothing to stop fox hunting so I don't think it makes much difference in reality. |

| | | Re: vote against fox It sends out appalling signals, don't you think, though, Gill? Not least about how the Tories regard the wishes of the majority electorate against those of a tiny number of influential "mates".
Eeyore, even the majority of Conservatives don't want the ban overturned. There's a whole movement in the party actively campaigning against it. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
