| | | Help on choosing a Fox caller I would be very grateful if anyone could advise me on a good Fox caller to buy. I've had a look round the net and there are so many to choose from. I would rather I got first hand advice than just pick one on chance. What I'm looking for is one that is easy to use, got a decent range (200 yards or so) and importantly can be used hands free. Appreciate any feed back, thanks folks.

| | | Re: Help on choosing a Fox caller Electronic or mouth? I use a foxcall uk one (google it), and a primos 3-in-1 jobbie too. The foxcall UK is very good, I've never learnt to shoot with it in my mouth as they say on the website though. I've put it on a lanyard so I just drop it from my mouth. It can spook them when they're in close though, needs muffling with your hand.

| | | Re: Help on choosing a Fox caller A couple of cheap options that can work very well are the round metal widgeon whistles. The cheaper one is a silver one, and makes a good rabbit type squeel with little practice, the other is brass, and can be placed round your neck with a lanyard, which is useful if you need your hands free for your camera or whatever .
Otherwise I use my hand, and for long range calling, I use a small wooden acme hare call.
I know people who now use their mobile phones to good effect, and a wide range of calls can be obtained. If you (or anyone else) wants me to e-mail them, il be happy to help. I suppose results depend upon the quality of your phones speakers.
