| | | Re: Monster of the deep!!! I remember one of the old time fishing newspapers raving about a lake in France, Cassies or something like that, about twentyfive years ago, where two English lads had hauled in a 200+lb'er. One chap said he jumped into the water to help lift the supposed Carp out and saw mouth the size of an oven and levitated back into the boat in shock. By all accounts the local villagers thought they were totally insane as the put the fish back, the Mayor had got a big grill fest planned quickly to enjoy this fish and Les Anglais had messed his party up.
Well Done FUDGEY Bostin' fish!

| | | Re: Monster of the deep!!! Perhaps you should try the Irish sea next - did you see this in the Sun today? A PROUD angler poses with a monster skate that missed out on breaking the UK record - because he threw the 249lb catch back.
Three shipmates helped Dutchman Hand Dykman haul the ray, measuring 6ft across, out of the Irish Sea.

h | I remember that catch, in Lake Cassien. The Angling Times ran a great story on it. I think it was caught by a carp angler, using boilies. That is going back a few years, I think I was only about 14 (I'm 37 now), when I was coarse fishing mad.
Nice fish by the way Fudgey.
Regards, Chris |
