Strange mushrooms.....
Whilst out at the weekend raiding my favourite chicken of the woods tree, I discovered these strange mushrooms growing out of a niche in the bark. Very strange to find agarics growing on willow - I had them down as Inocybe at first but, on closer inspection, they turned out to be made of plastic!

They were attached to a small phial containing a note with letters and numbers on - looks like I have unwittingtly found a geocache!

So, thanks KT and Hedgie, I wouldn't have had a clue about what it was had it not been for your posts here. Question for me now though is what was the clue that would have led to the CotW tree in the first place?
