| | | Re: Geocaching Not at all. I grew up with the likes of Kit Williams, the Cadbury's Golden Egg hunt and the Lancashire Evening Post's watered down version, and they were all good clean family fun.
I view geocaching as a modern version of these. And it's free. I just wish I could bloomin' well find one. LOL
Did you know (KT will back me up here) that you can get specially made magnetic microcaches? This fascinates me. Probably almost impossible to find. And have you seen how difficult some of the clues are - that last one with the Doctor Who theme was a killer?
Geocaching rocks and geocachers are the salt of the Earth!!!

if theres a central geocache website/forum etc maybe KT or Hw could convey this advice over there and convey our apologies.

The way I understand it, the post code is HP27 0RP or near this, is this correct? I cannot find a geocache within 1 mile of this.

(yeah i know its an external link , but its a googlemap so i cant upload it internally for copyright reasons)
lat and long 51.72319,-0.816148
it was inside a hollow tree on the north side of the path next to a redundant stile - however we cut the tree down and took the stile out - so as i say its now under a log about 8 or so feet to the north (or at least thats where we put it)
saying that maybe its not a geocache if there isnt anything nearby - it was a clip shut air tight plastic box full of geocoins, tokens, and other bits of tat - I suppose it could have been a letterbox if that is still running , but i thought they all had punches in ? - I dunno really

| | | Re: Geocaching these are all the geocaches in that immediate area. Geocaching > Search for Geocaches
you say that you cut the tree down last year so its possible that that certain cache has been archived because of lots of people not finding it. If it has been archived theres no way of finding it on the web |

| | | Re: Geocaching I'm gonna be setting some caches soon too.
My main hobby is astronomy, so my caches will all be on that theme.
I have a few planned already, which will be 'multi's (you need to visit a few locations to gather info which will lead to the co-ords of the final cache)
For instance, the first one is gonna be called 'The Orion Nebula' (or similar)
Each of the multi-parts will be positioned in such a way that if you plot them on a map, they will fairly accurately draw out the shape of the constellation Orion.
The bits of info, will combine to give the co-ords of the Orion nebula - which will be the final cache, and will also be located to be in the right position, if plotted on a map.
I have 3 like this planned out so far - and once the initial 3 have been set - more will follow.
