| | | Laser pens I see two anglers were arrested for using these - are they generally used for scaring away birds? Has any research been done on the effects of these on the birds' eyesight? I would imagine if used responsibly, a quick flash in the eye to deter a coot from a bait is preferable to it getting a hook caught in it's beak and being dragged half-way across a lake. Any other opinions/ experiences would be interesting to hear. |

| | | Re: Laser pens I dont agree with these at all tbh Robin. I dont know any science behind it but I dont think flashing lasers into the eyes of any animal is a good idea. I'm sure there are better ways of scaring ducks away from thier lines. |

| | | Re: Laser pens I would guess that the anglers would be using them as bait for the fish, wouldn't they? I have one and although I've heard cats love to chase the spots, mine don't! *But* my tropical fish do! (And yes I am very careful when I tease them with it .)
