| | Birch sap is rising! Hi All,
I enjoyed the birch sap thread last year - so much so, I gave it a go and had some (limited) success today. Problem wasn't getting it to flow, it was getting it in the right place!
Anyway - I thought I would share the news that the sap is flowing here in sunny MK. I will try again next weekend and who knows, maybe have my first attempt at home made wine
Cheers.

I was unfortunate to get some in my hair last weekend after I popped a Blister on a Birch trunk, reminded me of tarmac, pressed my finger into the blister and the Sap squirted out missing my brand new jacket. Kept smelling this funny smell and then touched my hair, my hair felt like Candy Floss, I was a wee bit worried of the prospect of having to have my hair cut short but after several washes everything was ok... |

Wouldn't have caused me too much trouble though as I personally subscribe to the Harry Hill school of hairdressing (though not through choice ).

I've still not had a go at tapping a birch tree but might get around to it this year, I've not got any demijohns or homebrew making stuff so will keep an eye out at charity shops etc........... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
