There is no point in trying to rationalise such behaviour by talking about population control, ecological balance or the like. People who ride to hounds do it because they like seeing animals killed, torn apart by dogs &c.. If such perverted behaviour were advocated elsewhere its supporters would be locked up or given medical treatment. | Was your post really neccessary Paul? It simply encourages the debate to end up in a slanging match. You don't agree with foxhunting, fair enough, but do you really have to lambast people you don't even know?
Cheers

| | | Re: Fox hunting 'more popular' according to CA Just a thought, but......if people have to hunt and really do enjoy the 'way of life' or the occasion and the ceremony of the hunt, and if the hunt really only kills 300 foxes each year and is not an effective method of control, then why not just muzzle the hounds so that the only thing missing would be the actual kill. Simple...no? Hunters happy, Foxes & dogs happy, hunt followers and anti's happy - everybody's happy! Am I being naive or would this not work? Polite responses only please - Wizzo
P.s this is genuinely, not an attempt to stir the pot, but just a constructive suggestion on how we could move this debate forward.

| | | Re: Fox hunting 'more popular' according to CA I'm not contributing to a slanging match; merely asking that people stick to the point. There is no place for a rational debate because some people are motivated by an atavistic, irrational blood-lust, others aren't.
End of debate. Quote:

End of debate. | . . . in your opinion. I'm sure the rest of us who aren't motivated by an atavistic, irrational blood-lust can hopefully carry on a reasonable debate without resorting to petty name-calling.
Cheers

Um... the owners would find it impractical? No, it's a great idea ... I wonder if any do?
I wonder what others think...
