| | | HELP'' free cooking apples wanted
hi everyone, i am a keen forager and im always keeping a look out for free food but i can never find cooking apples, is there anyone in the west sussex or surrey area[i live near petworth] that knows where i can get some free cooking apples plus is there any foragers near me that would want to share our free food locations
any help will be appreciated

Sorry I can't help you on cooking apples but there are a few eating apple trees growing around here near Horsham.

Not to forget that a few eating apples can also have great cooking qualities too.
Red Johnathon, Fiesta, James Grieves, Granny Smith, Peasgoodnonsuch, Ashmeads Kernel are just a few which can be used for cooking!

funny thing happened to me today, driving to the shop when suddenly on the side of the road on someones drive a box of cooking apples and a sign saying help yoursef  as i was filling my plastic bag the man came out the house and said just help yourself to as many as you like ''theres hundreds of them in the back garden''

Serendipitous.
Lord, that never occurred to me! There are several houses around here that have bagged up windfall apples and requests to help yourself. If you drive through Shere, Rudgewick or Cranleigh you may see some too. | | |
