| | | Wildfowlers lack of clean up At my local patch there is a group of shooters that shoot duck and geese during the 'season'. Recently there have been reports of dead and injured birds being seen after these shoots, who should I complain to and will it do any good? I have tried google but can't find anything. |

I clearly remember that fellow that appeared on Countryfile saying that they always collect every single bird, that is always killed instantly, after they sportingly fire the cloud of bullets into the middle of a flock of ducks. And, of course, he said everyone single one is eaten too.... |

| | | Re: Wildfowlers lack of clean up It's not something I know much about, but what you describe would seem to be in breach of the BASC's code of practice BASC - Wildfowling Code of Practice
Worth bringing it to their attention, I think.

| | | Re: Wildfowlers lack of clean up Tell the shooters RobinP. They are the ones responsible and as a wildfowler myself who takes great efforts to find a shot bird, I would be embarrassed to think people might be thinking of complaining to someone else when it's my responsibility.
It's always easy to critisize by commenting on the activities of others Ukwildlifeo but "sportingly fire the cloud of bullets into the middle of a flock of ducks" is not what wildfowling is all about. |

| | | Re: Wildfowlers lack of clean up HI any occurence of bad behaviour such as this should be checked. May I suggest that you should check that the "reports " are in fact occuring. Usually legitimate wildfowlers are a decent bunch who would not want to leave injured birds under any circumstance...
However if you discover actual evidence then a complaint to the landowners and to BASC should do the trick.

| | | Re: Wildfowlers lack of clean up There is actual evidence and I will be complaining to the landowners - Lafarge - and the warden of the lakes. I would not approach anyone carrying a shotgun thanks very much. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
