| | | sea buckthorn Hi all,
I've just tried sea buckthorn berrys for the first time last week and they where surprisingly good. I didnt have any thing to collect them in so just tried a few as a wayside snack.
Can anybody recommend recipes for the fruits .Do you cook them in pies or make drinks/jams out of them.
regards mark. |

| | | Re: sea buckthorn Best not confuse 'ordinary' buckthorn with sea buckthorn:
"Langham says of the buck-thorn, that ‘the beries do purge downwards mightily flegme and choller’"
I don't know what 'choller' means in this context - and I'm not sure I want to!

| | | Re: sea buckthorn Interesting - I've always understood Sea Buckthorn to be entirely poisonous, but I read recently about the berries being a source of vitamin C, so I was wondering if I'd been misinformed. Obviously I was . I've been tempted to try some recently, I might give them a go now Quote:
