| | | Robson Green Extreme fishing The program that was published last night demonstrated the worst sort of behaviour by people who purport to be sportsmen. There are threads running on several angling forums giving the relevent details on who to complain to,
The Company that made the program are
IWC MEDIA LTD
Nicky Murphy, Isla O'Hara
St. George's Studios
93-97 St. George's Road
Glasgow
G3 6JA
Phone : 0141 353 3222
Email : mailglasgow@iwcmedia.co.uk
Fax : 0141 353 3221
Also link to Offcon..... How to complain | Ofcom
Also the commisioning editor of the show for five is steve.gowans@five.tv
He too will be getting a piece of my mind....
If you saw the program I am sure you will feel like I do...

| | | Re: Robson Green Extreme fishing I admit I was looking forward to this program with the view that it was going to be similar to John Wilson, Matt Hayes, Rex Hunt, to name afew with successful shows in which they catch large game fish. The first episode wasnt to bad the last episode was against EVERYTHING I view fishing to be, ive fished all my life and that program was very poor.
1. The first ECO-problem is catching catfish whilst they are mating and killing them then dragging them out of their nests/holes. Not really a sustainable way to fish. It also caused great damage to the fish as they were dragged out causing gashes to their bodies.
2. Carp fishing with a bow and arrow, the guys claim it was a sort of culling that had to take place yet whilst doing it they shot an alligator gar clearly showing there was no environmental consideration, it has left with a bolt through its head and thrown into a bucket, when they did get to some carp they were shot in random areas of the body dragged to the boat not killed humanely infact just thrown into a bucket to die.
3. They went shooting on a swamp craft/hovercraft, they plough through reed beds causing considerable damage, then pull up and this guy attempts three times to kill a moorhen luckily he missed every time, i really dont understand why he tried killing it or why it had to be part of the program.
4. Spear fishing barracuda, basically someone swimming two/three foot away from a barracuda and harpooning it, wheres the sport in that? Whilst doing this Robson decides to do abit of shark fishing the skipper gaffs the shark through the side of its face and rips half its head off, then tosses it back.
Very disappointing in my eyes although my love of wildlife makes it abit bias but I dont think the ways in which these sports, culling activities etc were carried out in a humane way. I am a big fan of fishing but I wont be watching it next week, and i find Robson himself to be a complete.............. (use your imagination). Im not sure if this was what coasty means, but its how I felt about it. It showed a complete lack of respect to wildlife. |

| | | Re: Robson Green Extreme fishing Even though I complained to the production company re an earlier episode, I did watch last nights and enjoyed it. It wasn't gimmicky, numbheads didn't feature too highly in it and the marlin and catfish fishing looked marvellous. I have to say though, R. Green on the whole is a very poor presenter.

| | | Re: Robson Green Extreme fishing I didn't mind the majority of it but the episode as outlined by Dogghound was a disgrace and really did make me angry.
Presenting wise I did find most of it ok but too many high fives and whooping loudly when catching fish doesn't do it for me...and playing on the "I'm just a poncy actor" was overdone too.
Some interesting locations though.
