| | | Re: Who uses a kelly kettle When I was doing stuff with BTCV they always made a brew with these. Like most things, the communally used ones lasted about 2 months and then the bottom seam started to leak. I thought that a well loved one should last a lot longer, but I sort of longed for one about 1/4 the size for a very quick brew for one. |

On London weekend tasks we used to use an ordinary kettle...and drunk from mugs which hadn't long been used as shoveholers!

I thought they were really cool (can a kettle be cool?), but rough handling always seemed to be their down fall. I have a 1/2 pint Primus, bought in an antique shop, and If I am away for more than a day that is my dear and my love. Understand it, let no-one near it and it is a constant friend. Let someone else near it and it is a bomb. |

Ah - used to go out with London BTCV in the 80's and I wish some of those kettles had met their maker...goodness only knows what we were boiling up in some of them!!! Just spent a few days with them in the Lakes a few years or so back |
