Milky Does

I have come across a few does in young on my last trip out with the ferrets has anybody else noticed this yet.

Here in cheshire they dont stop breeding till november and start again in january with occasional ones found in late december. The winters are so mild that the grass is plentiful and very few hard frosts any more. The beuty of purse, gat or long net is that you can release the milky ones and ensure next years harvest of rabbits

Yes your right if you are working on land that is just for sport, but i have a job to clear the rabbits buy the farmer & i dont think he would be to happy if i just took the rabbits that are strong & healthy & released the milky & young as this would cause havock on the crops in the future.

they must start breeding in the middle of winter. Do you have trouble with ferrets lieying up with the young if so you must be doing a lot of digging.

i dont actually go ferreting yet but next year i'll be starting again and yep will probley do loads of diggin unless we get a proper winer next year ie start about october and end in march

I used to breed Bunnies and they can conceive at any time. I'm pretty sure the act of mating can induce ovulation. This could vary in the wild though, maybe it depends on the seasons more.
