| | RSPB condemns outrageous Catalan bird-hunting plan An outrageous proposal by the Catalan government could see British nesting birds being illegally hunted as they pass through north-east Spain during their spring and autumn migrations. | | Re: RSPB condemns outrageous Catalan bird-hunting plan They all seem to be the same to me. At the moment there is also a petition to stop " hunting" in Greece where as we all know the wildlife is struggling to recover from the devastating fires. The EU has alot IMHO to answer for, these barbaric practices were supposed to have ended as a condition of entry to the EU, Malta being one of the worst examples, Lolo Williams made a documentary about it but as I understand it this was only shown in Wales whilst the English wildlife presenters would rather churn out springwatch than tell the story of what is happening in some countries, hopefully many would boycott these places and take their holidays elsewhere IF they were better informed. |

After all 'money talks'. Seems to me that we need to either boycott travelling to these areas, and let the embassy know why, or go to these places to specifically indulge in the wildlife, thereby putting an econimc value on it. Whilst I'm not againts the EU (I'm not particularly political) they do seem to pick and choose their fights and too often 'hunting' (can putting glue on branches be considered so?) seems to be the lowest priority. |
