It is not about Hawfinches but gives a lot of info about Devon with contact numbers and e-mail addresses of people that could help you with your quest for different birds in your area. birding facts Birding Resources by the Fat Birder
I know of a site called Ide Nr Exeter where Hawfinch are seen. I am not sure the exact location but I'm sure you will find out from one of those contacts listed in that site I have given you above.

| | | Re: Hawfinches in Devon Blackwater Arboretum has the added bonus of Lesser-Spotted Woodpeckers, and also other interesting finches, (although it may possibly be a bit too late in the year for these birds?), but if you want any more info about Blackwater then Deerstalker is the person to talk to. |

| | | Re: Hawfinches in Devon Cheers Guy.
Blackwater is a garunteed place to see them come to roost in the winter but they are all over the Forest & this is the easiest time to find them as the males are singing at the tops of the leafless trees. Ive been finding them just about every time Iv'e been out in different places on the Forest for the last month.
But you are quite a way from the New Forest & I don't know anywhere closer. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
