| | | Tiny little Bird? I caught sight of a tiny little bird today in my garden, never seen one before it was gorgeous and so tiny, about half the size of a Blue Tit, I am wondering if it could be a Wren?
At first i thought i had spotted a mouse running up and down the branches of some shrubs at the end of my garden, it didn't fly it just seemed to hopping from branch to branch and foreging in the undergrowth, i didn't see it use any of the feeders or the bird table and it seemed to be staying away from the other birds? have posted a picture can anyone help with an ID please?

Barquar | Sorry Barquar, just saw your response after i had submitted my reply
they are meant to have a fairly loud song for their size aren't they? |

| | | Re: Tiny little Bird? I was lucky enough to have one nesting in my garden about 4 years ago, in an open fronted woven type nest box about two to three foot from the ground.
We never saw them during the day, but each evening they would come out and line themselves up along the fence. I think there were eight in total. It was a great site to see. |

| | | Re: Tiny little Bird? Oh how lovely i will have to listen out, brave the cold and open my window!
I expect they have to be pretty fussy about the nest site then if they build that low! the shrubs at the end of my garden are pretty thick for this time of year usually quite bare but this year has been fairly mild hasn't it so prehaps thats the attraction... Are they very shy around people or do they tend to be quite bold like the robin does anyone know? i would hate to scare it away! |
