| | | Re: Poorly Wood Pigeon advice/help needed please If I was you, I think I'd wait until morning... not knowing where you are, but here it's grey, cold and drizzling- so it's going to get dark earlier, but I think the weather will be better and brighter tomorrow... so that would give him longer to fly about and get his strength back.
If it's not a problem, keep him some place quiet again tonight- water available and maybe some sunflower hearts or seeds if he'll take them, (or unsalted crushed peanuts, or a bit of crumbled bread- anything to make sure he's eating) and then see if he acts like he wants to fly off when you take him out in the morning... But I'd keep an eye out for any cats hanging about, in case he doesn't!
Good luck with it- keep us informed! |

| | | Re: Poorly Wood Pigeon advice/help needed please Its difficult to know what was wrong with the wood pigeon in the first place. They quite often fly into windows and stun themselves and after a rest can recover quite well. All you can do if you think he is strong and perky is give him a test flight before the sun goes down, but be prepared to take him in again if somethings wrong.
