| | Re: Maltese hunters We have friends who didn't realise that this shoot anything practise went on in an area of Cyprus where they bought a small villa. They have told us that even with signs up with 'Nature conservation area, no shooting' it is blatantly ignored and the 'police' in these areas often are family members, who ignore what their relatives do and may even do it themselves!!!
To intervene is dangerous and to tell the police is useless. I have no idea what the answer is but it seems to me that these folks with guns (and our friends have seen some as young as 10 with guns) won't stop until there are no birds left.
I think boycotting the country may help but then some travellers are not even aware of such practise.
Very depressing.

Jim | Totally with you. And take their George Cross away too.
Cheers,
Bryan

| | | Re: Maltese hunters Its sad after all the international pressure nothing is being done. Still they could turn round and point at what goes on many game reserves in the UK nad the very low number of breeding hen harriers and absence of golden eagles breeding in England | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
