Is this a Brambling?

This bird was exhausted and/or injured. It was sitting rather than standing, and did not fly away when approached. Location: Budleigh Salterton seafront, on a cold (zero deg C) afternoon.

The nearest visual match I can find is the Brambling, but it looks a bit pale. Can anyone help?

Thanks Robert. I have just looked it up on the RSPB site, and I can see the resemblance. No wonder it was exhausted - it's not from round here!

cracking shot of a cracking bird only seen one at Portland bill when i wandered over to see what a group of twitchers were watching in the quarry car park

Snow Buntings can be very confiding and will approach very close.

Nice shot of snow bunting these birds are not as a norm shy at all you often get very close to them and even when they do fly don't go far at all as seen in the OP. this bird most likely been in Britain for a while now so not likely to be tired just confiding

One still hanging around at Tring...got close to that as well a couple of weeks ago..

theres about 5 or 6 hanging around local to me apparently they have been here for over a month ( so i was told )



iv'e never seen one before getting a photo as well was a real treat
