| | | Huge nest Looking through my old pictures I found this one which I think I took last year, the nest in the picture was about 40 feet up a tree and contained some huge branches, over 6 feet long. the largest bird I have seen in the area (near Guildford, Surrey) was a buzzard, I was wondering if this could have been its nest, if not, can anyone suggest anything that would make a nest of such large branches? I would have thought they would have been too big for a buzzard to carry, they must have weighed a few pounds each at least.
Cheers,

| | | Re: Huge nest Thanks for the quick replies , I hadnt even considered herons, the big branches looked like they would have needed something very substantial to carry them, and I have seen herons in the area, looks like the puzzle has been solved.
Cheers
