| | | Blackbirds and starlings So at the moment there's a lot of blackbirds around and about. I'm trying to encourage them into my garden, but whenever I put food out for them, the starlings come along and swipe the lot! I'm more than happy to feed the starlings, but I just wondered if anyone could suggest any foods I could put out that will encourage the blackbirds but that the starlings aren't interested in?
Thanks,
Hels |

Maybe putting suet based feed at one part of the garden for the starlings , the suet blocks are a particular favourite of starlings , and small chopped fruit or raisins away on the ground in another part for the blackbirds might be a solution. |

| | | Re: Blackbirds and starlings just back from me mams and at least 20 blackbirds in the garden there, but this isnt a large garden, by any means. also feeding were 2 nuthatch , coal tits, blue tits, 4 robins, house sparrows, starlings, chaffinches, collard dove, feral pigeons, dunnocks.and the little grey wagtail. they throw out seeds, mealworm, have fatballs, suet blocks, nuts, and apples, raisins, a mixture there, but they all feed together, odd skirmish every now and again.rossy. |

| | | Re: Blackbirds and starlings Blackbirds will forage under trees and in undergrowth, so put some food there for them. Anything out in the open, the starlings will devour it! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
