| | supprised to see..... was walkingin the park with my littleone on monday and heard an odd bird call
kind of a screach rather than the "local" type bird calls
followed my ears (dragging the little one with me "but daddy i want to play on the toys....") to find ..............
Parakeets........
i thought the old "must have escaped" but there were 5 of them.... and they looked to be right at home
came home and with the help of ye trusty old internet found they are infact Indian Ring necked parakeets and are now NATIVE in the southeast!
a little supprised to say the least! |

Until about couple of years ago we saw none in our bit of east London, but now they are almost a regular twice daily event as they move to feed in the morning and back to roost in the evening.

They're a nuisance around here!

You wouldn't think they'd be able to survive the cold winters, would you? |
