| | | what are these birds? Apologies for seeming really dumb but having looked on in my book and online too I couldn't find a name for these birds. They were tucking into nijer seeds if that helps.
Sorry the pictures are really rubbish but I hope they are sufficient for you to identify them for me!

Yes they are goldfinches they love niger seed as do siskins and redpolls if you are lucky you may well get some of these coming in with the goldfinchs, but have noted this may depend on local habitat if you have alders and brich near by will give you a better chance of both sikins and red polls, one other factor ive have noted as well is I can get good numbers of both siskins and redpolls in the garden at times, but if there is a good crop of alder seed like it seems this year, I get a lot less visiting only had 2 siskins and one red poll so far this year so far.
