| | | Bittern, another first for me
Hi folks, after missing seeing the Bittern at our local reserve over the last few years (he usually shows himself just after we have left  ) we saw our first ever at Slimbridge  He wasn`t appearing the first time we looked but we had a cracking view of a Sparrowhawk. We just popped in on our way back down & there he was Hard to see at first but then he came out into the open. I know several of you have seen him there so I was hoping.
I don`t know, my first Lesser Spotted Woody the other week & now the Bittern & January isn`t over yet  Fantastic!

Keep going , great pic , i remember seeing my first bittern last year was over the moon..

Well done you!
I was hoping to see a Bittern today at Dinton Pastures but it was a no show whilst there! 
I'll try again another day, hopefully!
I've yet to see a Sparrowhawk this year aswell.

How exciting! I saw a sparrowhawk perch outside my sisters living room window last Saturday and she lives in a terraced row with tiny gardens. Just shows you don't have to go far (sometimes). I've not seen a Bittern yet but here's hoping...! |
