Immature drake Eider. Adult males should be in full breding plumage at this time of year.

Yes 1st winter, by the end of this year it will look very much like an adult male (with slight differences). Males can breed after two years, but most birds start to breed when they are three.

Ha! We saw this eider on saturday. I'll see if I can get my other half to dig up the picture.
