Upper Longdon, Staffordshire - Great Grey shrike Location?

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knew where abouts on the edge of the village this perticular bird is? It has been reported for days now on Staffordshire Bird News
and im not quite sure if it would be worth the trip up their if i don't know it's exact where abouts. any ideas much appriciated!

Is this the same one that been at cannock chase for good few weeks now,
if so my mate shirke is going down to try and track it down later this week,
He has got a good bit of info on this bird, i would expect if he sees this thread he may have some info ,

Theres 2 shrikes in the area one at upper longdon just south of rugeley and the other is somewhere in the vicinity of "the rifle butts" on cannock chase.
I'll probably be able to give you better info after i've been.I have been warned however not to go unless the weather is dry as it doesn't show if its raining.sorry cant be of any more help at present.

Get into Google Earth and in Decimal Degrees find 52.76189 , -1.995265.

This position is in between Shooting Butts and The Old Quarry. That's one of the areas that it's been seen in.
It's supposed to be favouring a Holly bush. I couldn't even find a Holly bush!
I've tried that area and met some Birders and Digiscopers who believe it to be there.
I've also tried Abrahams Valley coming from Seven Springs.
With luck, I'll be in the Stepping Stones area tomorrow.
Cannock Chase is a vast area!
My aim is :
1. To find some Birders who know where it is.
2. Find a Holly bush ( there's not many on the Chase ).

Hi all,

I have been their this morning, and thanks to another few birders i did get a great veiw of the bird! it was near the clearfell area just a few minutes away from where we parked.
