The gargoyle is there to scare away cats. (Well, I had to do something to make up for it being just a battered old pan on the ground! ) | I was using a frying pan too. For all of a day! Guess I should've asked permission from the chef first. She's not really into ad hoc garden modifications.

| | | Re: Unusual bird bath? I have two feeding stations, one in the back garden, near the bird bath, and another more popular feeding station in the front garden, which is nice, because I can see the birds out of the kitchen window... I never bothered with a bird bath in the front garden, since we have a stream around 300 yards away across the road, but recently I noticed the birds were using a rectangular terracotta flower pot base to drink from, so I cleaned it up a bit and sure enough almost immediately I had a blue tit and a great tit drinking from it, and a blackbird taking a bath! He even chased another blackbird away from it. I guess they really do like to have a drink and a splash around without having to move too far away from the feeding area.
Terrible photo and will try to get one with birds using it soon! |
