| | | Bird id please I saw this little fellow scurrying about in the garden today
and wondered if a member could put a name to it,i thought it maybe
a member of the redpoll family,any id would be gratefuly appreciated.

| | Re: Bird id please Blackcaps were totally migratory due to their insectivore nature but now we get a lot more stop overs. like our insectivore-beaked robins some are finding enough to scrape by on - saves a long and dangerous trip.or could be a v. early migrant given the weather?

| | | Re: Bird id please They're still all migratory, as far as I know, except that now we also get ones migrating here from Germany (or thereabouts) for the winter, while our breeding birds carry on migrating south. I'm not aware of any significant non-migratory component to the breeding population, although I don't claim that's definitive. |
