My bird's bib was level at the bottom and the chinstrap was parallel, I'm a bit 'narrow sighted ' when it comes to birds and I should be aware that small variations can occur. But what is a reed bunting doing in North Wiltshire?  Cheers, Tony. |

The Reed Buntings are going through the moult into they're breeding plumage at the moment so the face pattern can be a little variable , they are a widespread bird frequenting reeds , farmland and most areas of rough ground as well as wetlands or estuaries , and getting common in places. They often visit birdtables at feeding stations so i could easily imagine them visiting birdtables if suitable habitat for them is anywhere nearby.
