Coots!
I have already posted a thread about bullfinches and reading your replies reminded me of my next query. I am lucky to live not to far from Blickling hall National Trust Norfolk,you can walk the grounds and lake there. Talking to a fisherman he said that in all the years he fished the lake he cannot remember seeing Coots!. I certainly made a note to look for them i saw some moorhens a few mallard even a friendly barn owl (early morning) but not one coot!, i have been back a few times since still no coots.It certainly looks like just the kind of Des,Res, a coot would be found in. Any Ideas?.

One possibility is that there are'nt enough shallows in the lake.

I've only ever seen two coots on the lake. But on the other hand, I have seen Smew and Goosander on there, which I would take over coots any day. Also I know otters have been seen on there too.
