Birds at Llwyn On Merthyr Tydfil

Hi All

I was fishing a few weeks ago at llwyn on reservoir near Merthyr and i took some bread up with me to feed the birds while i was there, the birds i saw were Nuthatches,Blue Tits, Great Tits,Treecreeper,Dunnock,Robins and Chaffinches and of course the usual Gulls Jackdaws and Ravens it was great so many birds in one place.

I was there yesterday having a look about, picked up on a few interesting birds amoung other things. Some of the smaller birds can be fairly tame here given you close views.

Three of the Rangers that come around to check your tickets are keen birders. Next time your there ask if there is anything about...they have a good eye on the water and will usually know if there is something interesting to see.

There has been a young Great Northern Diver on the reservoir the last few weeks, although not been seen since Saturday I believe. Also nearby at Garwnant, there is currently a Great Grey Shrike.
