| | | Re: Spot the Pheasant Thanks Jack, picture was taken at 130pm today, I didn't expect to find a pheasant up a tree at this time of day. The light was very poor, so pic did turn out that good. + hand held at 35x zoom. |

| | | Re: Spot the Pheasant It is weird. I remember flushing some from the trees local to me, just didn't expect it at all! Maybe they roost there? And at 1:30, maybe yours were having a siesta??

| | | Re: Spot the Pheasant On the contrary Nige, he was shouting his head off for ages. The funny thing was, it sounded like it was coming from somewhere on the ground. I think he might have been taking the mick |

Perhaps one "in a tree & shouting it's head off" early in the afternoon was there because there was a ground based predator lurking unseen somewhere nearby, a fox or domestic cat perhaps?

| | | Re: Spot the Pheasant If a Pheasant is up a tree during the day its a good chance a Fox has just passed, especially if he was shouting, another classic sign. Seen this a few times. Good shot Alan

| | | Re: Spot the Pheasant The pigeons in the top of the tree are showing signs of concern, too. This could be due to Acipiter with a camera below though! |
