A female sparrow hawk - what a fantastic bird, so acrobatic and always a delight to see, especially when their numbers crashed to very low figures not too many years ago, and now they are back to a very healthy population.

Always a good omen to see for you know there is plenty of food about.

OOPS, I see Doghound reckons it's a male - ages since I did birdwatching. I would have thought a Dove is too large for a male to bring down ?
