| | | David Lindo 'The Urban Birder' Book - recommended! I received the David Lindo book 'the Urban birder' book for Christmas, and thoroughly recommend people read it!
It's easy to read, entertaining, he's passionate about birds and has the potential to be become the next Chris Packham I think....
He is a great role model for young people and kids especially, David - as ever - makes the very good point that more and more people are living in cities than ever before, so now very important to engage city and urban folk if we are to promote birdwatching and nature conservation in the future.
The book related to me my childhood experiences too - joining the (then) junior arm of the RSPB, the Y.O.C, collecting bumblebees in jars, buying your first - heavy, bulky - pair of binoculars etc.!
Proof also you don't really need to travel far to see birds of any kind - simply get out and about, and look upwards! |

David is a character. If you ever get a chance to go on one of his walks, I would recommend you do so. He talks like his book and he is one of a kind.

On the Scrubs walk he was extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

I just wish that i could have started birding younger.
