Economy Scope and Tripod setup

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good scope for not too high a price ( thinking celstron ultima 80), but more importantly a good stable tripod that isnt going to set me back too much. Obviously no shake is the main factor.

Any recommended online suppliers would be good too.

how much did you want to spend?
Is it primarily for wildlife/birdwatching?

I have a super lightweight Velbon carbon fibre tripod and an opticron scope and eyepiece which I am pleased with. Together with Scopac cost around £3,000 at the Rutland Bird Fair two years ago.

ive got jessops own brand 20-60x80 scope from jessops at 79.99 its rock bottom of the range but does the job , not great for scanning as limited depth of field but fine for getting a closer look especially if decent light .Velbon tripods start at 39.99 upwards.Basically you get what you pay for but on a limited budget it is possible to get both for around £100.
